Dedicated Professionals Driving Innovation and Excellence

Born from Data
West Dakota Water was founded in 2011 following a rigorous technical analysis of the Bakken play. Our engineering team scrutinized well spacing, historical production curves, and the fluid systems favored by E&P companies across the region. This deep understanding of water requirements in modern completions led to the development of our spec-built infrastructure — a system designed from the ground up to deliver water at the volume and quality demanded by the Bakken’s fast-paced operations.
Every pipeline route and placement was deliberately chosen to ensure surface transfers to completing well pads remain both economical and logistically viable — not a retrofit, but a purpose-built solution backed by data.
Local Roots, Professional Backbone
West Dakota Water is a privately held company with a strong commitment to the communities we serve. We employ a local workforce and invest in the region through charitable initiatives, social engagement, and the continuous creation of skilled jobs.
Our leadership team is composed of accomplished engineers, operations experts, logistics specialists, and seasoned business professionals. Together, they guide a motivated and growing workforce in meeting the daily challenges of water handling with precision, agility, and excellence.
Safety Is Engineered In
This is no accident. It’s the result of our rigorous training protocol: a structured onboarding process launched in 2018 that includes classroom presentations, hands-on instruction, procedural walkthroughs, and a six-month supervised apprenticeship. Customers consistently recognize our program as the most comprehensive, water-specific safety training in the region.
What We Offer
With nearly 250 miles of permanent pipeline infrastructure, 150 miles of lay-flat hose, and a fleet of nearly 70 high-capacity pumps, WDW delivers reliable water access across the entire Bakken. Our system is built for scale — from single well pads to full-field development — with seamless surface transfer capabilities.
What Sets Us Apart
Spec-Built Systems
Our network wasn’t adapted — it was designed specifically for Bakken activity, with strategic placement that anticipates future expansion and evolving E&P demand.

Human-Centered Operations
From field hands to executive leadership, we prioritize communication, safety, and local knowledge. Our crews understand the land and the work — because they live it every day.
